“San Fernando Valley Academy is the only school I have ever attended, and I will proudly say that I plan to stay here at SFVA until high school. This school has been such a big blessing in my life, and I will always thank my parents for bringing me here. San Fernando Valley Academy has helped me grow in my journey with God, and I have met so many inspiring people at this school. All of the teachers and staff always look for ways to help us students so that we can focus on our studies and learn. I appreciate how everyone at this school is so kind and welcoming. I have made so many special memories here with all of my friends and through all of the fun activities I participated in. This school has not only helped me academically, but it has also helped shape my character and faith. I am truly grateful for all the opportunities and experiences I have had at SFVA..”

Going to San Fernando Valley Academy has been one of the many blessings in my life. I have been attending this school since kindergarten, and now as a 7th grader, I have created many special memories here. I am so thankful for the teachers who have watched me grow and guided me throughout my life. The people here at SFVA are welcoming, kind, and supportive. Even though teaching many students can be challenging, the teachers always manage to show the SFVA character traits every day.

Even though this is a small school, it has stood strong for 124 years, which is very impressive. Being part of a school with such a long history makes me feel proud. SFVA has taught me to grow not only academically, but also in my faith and relationship with God.

I am truly thankful for all the support and encouragement my teachers and staff have given me. I have made meaningful friendships here that I will always treasure. The kindness, patience, and Christ-like love shown by the staff have helped shape my character and encouraged me to become a better person. I would especially like to thank the principal for his kindness and leadership.

I feel very blessed to attend SFVA, and I hope this school continues to grow in God’s grace for many more years. I truly thank God for placing me here.

San Fernando Valley Academy has been my school for nine years of my life- ever since I was two years old. My parents have attended Adventist schools their whole life, which is why they decided to send me and my brother to SFVA. I have grown up in this school, surrounded by people who love the Lord. I have always gone to church on Saturdays and I have attended church activities, for example, Vacation Bible School. Growing up with all these factors has changed who I am. If my parents never sent me to SFVA, I think that I would not be the same person spiritually wise. I am very grateful for attending SFVA. The academy has been my school for a very long time, so I can say that San Fernando Valley Academy is a good school. I can also say that our school is improving to become a better place for future students. San Fernando Valley Academy is a great place to put kids. Anyone who comes here will be blessed with the word of God. Thats why I think SFVA is an amazing school.

I’ve been at SFVA since Kindergarten with my friends who also started that same year: Abby, Guilly, Hayden, and Eli. (Mrs.G) Mrs Gutierrez who was Ms. Carrillo then was our first teacher.

Every morning Mrs. Guzman greets us at the gym and keeps us occupied with basketballs, volleyballs, and soccer balls. She does a lot for us and makes sure we have fun while not getting hurt. During morning class with Mrs Gutierrez we read lots of fascinating books like: “Bridge to Terabithia”, “Esperanza Rising”, “Save Me a Seat”, and “I am Malala”. These stories mesmerize us with all of the beautiful and elegantly written words which also teach good lessons. Then, we arrive to the STEM or the 3rd/4th grade classroom where we make arts and crafts or work on lessons and projects. At the time of our science dismissal, I see students coming from recess or classes it is very active campus with energy and life. Then, the next class is Math with Mr. Lastima. We try our best to finish the tough assignments and solve the problems the entire time. We are relieved when he says, “You can go to lunch now.” Everybody rushes out to take a break and eat to enjoy delicious food!

At the end of each school year, I look back and think about how all of my teachers and friends have been so nice and supportive. Hopefully, the following years will be the same. I am happy to be part of a Christian community, together we walk in a journey of faith. I hope to give my best in all I do to make San Fernando Valley Academy an example for others to follow in the future.

Samantha, 6 years at SFVA

Here, I have the ability to teach my students about God without having any fear.
